Balloon-Powered Car 气球动力汽车

Car that can move the farthest wins! 行驶距离最远的汽车获胜!

🎯 Goal:

Design and build a "self-movable" car powered by a balloon! Blow up a balloon (or balloons) attached to the car and release it to see it move!

🧪 Experiment duration: 45 minutes

📦 Materials:

  • balloon(s)
  • cardboard
  • strings
  • wooden sticks / popsicle sticks
  • plastic bottles
  • straws
  • (scissor & tape)

📊 Variables to consider:

  • Placement and connection of the balloon to the car body
  • How to blow & release the balloon efficiently
  • Size, shape, and thickness of the wheels
  • Distance between the wheels
  • Shape of the body of the car

  • Newton's Law of Motion
  • Friction
  • Energy transfer
  • Air resistance
  • Speed, distance, and time

⚠️ ️Beware... cardboard may be difficult to cut into the right shape!
